Cherry table top; 60 inches long, 18.6 inches wide, 30 inches high. Top thickness: 1.6 inches.
Base: Black Walnut
This cherry slab came from Long Island, NY from a tree blown over in Hurricane Irene, August 2011. This was one of six slabs available.
The cherry table top has a stunning figured concentric grain pattern that is a rare find. The pattern extends over the whole top creating an image that dominates its visual presentation. By viewing the end grain, you can get a clear appreciation for the true 3-dimensional features contained in this slab.
The finish is hand rubbed oil/polyurethane with the small branch extension filled in with water-clear resin to produce a highly polished surface so smooth to the touch that is hard to stop running your hand over it.
This piece of cherry is one of the most impressive unique pieces I have ever come across.....grain pattern, color, size.
